A catalogue is not clicked through one product at a time. DPTag creates passports in bulk from three places, and the passports list publishes them in bulk. Every passport created this way is pre-filled the same way, from the product's attributes, its category composition and the store defaults, in that order of priority.
Creating passports
For the whole catalogue: the wizard
Passports, then Setup wizard, step 4, creates a passport for every product that has none, in batches of one hundred. It is the right tool for a first run and for a large batch of new products, and it is safe to rerun: products that already have a passport are skipped. Details on the setup wizard page.
For a selection: the products list
On the WooCommerce products list, tick the products, open the Bulk actions menu and choose Create product passports. One passport per ticked product is created as a draft; products that already had one are left untouched. A notice reports both counts and links to the passports list to review them.
The action works on the products ticked on the current page. For a whole catalogue, the wizard is faster than paging through the list.
While some products still lack a passport, the products list shows a reminder pointing to that action. It can be dismissed, per user.
For one product: the product editor
In the product editor, the Digital passport box on the side has a Create passport button when the product has none. It creates one pre-filled draft and opens it straight away. This is the path for a product added after the catalogue was done.
Publishing in bulk
Nothing created above is public. A passport gets its public page and its QR code when it is published, and publishing is a separate decision so that a draft can be reviewed first.
On the passports list, filter on Drafts if you like, tick the passports, open Bulk actions and choose Publish. Only the ticked drafts change; passports already published are left as they are. A notice gives the count.
Each passport is published through the same path as a single one from its editor, so anything that runs on publish runs here too. The completeness score does not gate publishing: a passport can go out at any score, and be completed later.
Removing passports
The same list is the place to remove passports. Tick them and choose Move to Trash, which is reversible: a trashed passport comes back from the Trash filter with its data and its identifier. While it is in the trash, its public page answers 404.
Emptying the trash is not reversible, and the consequence is not on the site: the permanent identifier that its QR code encodes is gone for good, so a code already printed on a label points nowhere for the rest of the product's life. Recreating the passport mints a new identifier and a new code. Trash a passport when you mean to stop publishing it; delete it permanently only when no printed code depends on it.
Deleting the plugin itself never deletes a passport, for the same reason.
With the Pro add-on
The Pro add-on adds an Export screen: a CSV of every published passport and a ZIP of every QR code as SVG, in one action. It also queues AI passport creation in the background for large catalogues. Neither is needed to create, publish or print a passport.
